About

conFAB was founded in January 2004. Since then, we have grown organically, but significantly, each year developing new and exciting work that straddles many different genres and art forms. We deliver ongoing learning opportunities through a high-quality programme of creative writing, visual art, drama, music and dance workshops and performances providing free arts activities for people facing barriers to participation. Our work is underpinned by our values:

Accessibility: we are committed to providing access to the arts for everyone as audiences, as participants and as artists.

Inclusivity: we recognise, encourage and support the development of the creative potential and capacity in everyone

Equality: we recognise the value and interconnectivity of all contributors to the creative process; artists, community participants, partners, crew and audiences. We seek ways in which we can facilitate these multiple voices and facilitate opportunities for these voices to be heard.

Innovation: our policy is to be flexible and responsive to need, exploring new ideas and new ways of doing things to answer that need.

conFAB is committed to minimising the impact of its activities on the environment.
conFAB is committed to the principles of the Fair Work and Living Wage Campaigns.
conFAB is committed to inclusion and a fairer future for all.

We believe that everyone has the right to live without fear or prejudice regardless of race, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, social class, religion and belief. Everyone should be able to make a full contribution to society in their own unique way and live in a world which demonstrates respect and values diversity.
